Court ruling “effectively ends affirmative action in college admissions”, says president
Universities should remain committed to ensuring they admit students from diverse backgrounds, US president Joe Biden has said following a Supreme Court ruling against affirmative action in admissions.
On 29 June, the court ruled in a case on the legality of Harvard College and the University of North Carolina using applicants’ race as a component in decisions about who should be admitted for study.
