President Obama discussed the importance of government investment in science and technology during the second televised presidential debate with his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, on 16 October.
Obama argued that it is alright if some low-wage, low-skill jobs that have been outsourced overseas do not return to the US. “I want high-wage, high-skill jobs,” the President stated.
