President’s move to withdraw United States from international climate-change agreement draws opposition ire

Opposition politicians have condemned United States president Donald Trump’s move to begin pulling the country out of the 2015 United Nations agreement on combating climate change.

The White House started the US’s official retreat from the so-called Paris Agreement on 4 November, triggering a year-long withdrawal process and making good on a promise Trump made in June 2017.
