Canadian government funds research chairs with $200m

The Canadian government has made $204 million available for research chairs at 56 higher education institutions, according to LabCanada website.

The funding includes $10m from the Canada Foundation for Innovation for research institutions that have won the newly launched Chair Awards. Research chairs winning the money can spend it on any discipline they want.
