Pacific Tsunami Warning System hit by UNESCO funding cuts?

A programme extending the tsunami early warning system from the Pacific to the Caribbean will be hit by United Nation’s Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO's) cutbacks on funding for science programmes after the United States stopped its funding.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning System is run by UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and is one of the agency’s largest science programmes.
