Two scientists from Africa were recognised at the women-only early-career wheat research awards in the USA last month.
Awatif Abd El Lateef Farag Alla, a lecturer at Sudan’s University of Khartoum in Sudan and Ida Paul from South Africa’s Agricultural Research Council (ARC) were among the five winners.
