August 19 is the deadline for submitting abstracts for the third annual economics conference hosted at the University of the West Indies’ Trinidad campus.
The Conference on the Economy (COTE 2011) will take place from 6 to 8 October 2011, according to the organisers’ website.
Submissions should address the conference theme, “managing for development in a volatile economic environment: addressing the challenges before us.”
Suitable abstracts could focus on the economics of environmental resources, energy, agriculture, culture, labour, trade, information and communication technologies, and tourism and aviation, the organisers said.
Accepted submissions will be considered for journal publication, the department announced.
Completed papers would need to be submitted in September.
The head of the economics department at UWI is Martin Franklin.
