EU and Unesco team up on science exchange

Unesco and the European Union have signed a deal to boost scientific exchange and align research and science priorities.

The deal is intended to help the two organisations tackle problems affecting their members through scientific and cultural collaboration. A memorandum of understanding was signed by EU foreign affairs commissioner, Andris Piebalgs, and the director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Irina Bokova.
