It has been my privilege to oversee the bi-monthly publication of Research Caribbean News under the auspices of the RIMI4AC (Improvement of Research and Innovation Management in Africa and the Caribbean) project. In its short life, this publication has seen 36 issues, 3 editors, countless freelancers and huge efforts from contributors to bring interesting news on research and research management to the Caribbean.
Sadly, we feel that our news offering may be somewhat premature for the region and despite our best efforts, there has been no consistent take-up of a news subscription. Consequently, with the fulfilment of our budget requirements under the RIMI4AC project as well as the draining costs of continuing to produce issues without a feasible market, today we publish the last issue of Research Caribbean for the foreseeable future.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the contributors to Research Caribbean, as well as to thank those of you who read the articles and shared them. All the news stories will remain on Research Professional within the archives and all issues can be accessed from there.
