Research centre to boost underwater relic research
An underwater cultural-heritage research base is to be set up on China’s east coast, following the signing of an agreement on 17 March. The Qingdao city government plans to invest 150 million yuan (€18m) in the centre, which is expected to open in 2014. It will boast laboratories, storage rooms and facilities, such as oxygen chambers, for research into undersea relics.
