India needs to re-assess GM crops, say MPs

A cross-party parliamentary panel on agriculture has unanimously recommended that India should pull back from genetically modified (GM) food crops.

A 500-page report published on 9 August recommends mandatory labelling of all GM foods, increased regulation of research and development and a stop to ongoing field trials, Science Insider reports.
