Caribbean people are consuming too much salt, which is dangerous for their health as it increases the risk of hypertension, kidney disorders and cardiovascular disease, according to a Jamaican researcher.
Epidemiology Professor Rainford Wilks at the University of West Indies, Jamaica, says Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs) are among the most important Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (CNCD), together with diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, and cancers in the region.
