The UN's education agency Unesco has set up an online database of the projects it funds.
The database includes details of 512 global projects across Unesco’s areas of expertise, as well as 982 country-specific projects and 430 regional projects that it supports, the organisation said in a statement on 16 March.
The move is intended to increase the transparency of the organisation’s activities, by publishing “comprehensive, quality and timely information about Unesco’s projects”. The database is in line with similar initiatives that have been implemented across UN agencies under the International Aid Transparency Initiative.
