Human rights advocates call on international governments to protect scholarly freedom

Students, teachers and researchers across the world face violence, kidnapping and threats to life, a major report has warned, detailing examples of hundreds of attacks on scholarly freedom in the past year.

Between September 2018 and September 2019, international human rights network Scholars at Risk recorded 324 targeted incidents against higher education communities in 56 countries around the world.
