Scientist Katharine Hayhoe receives United Nations’ “flagship environmental honour” for climate change work

Canadian scientist Katharine Hayhoe has been given the United Nations’ “flagship environmental honour” for her work to understand climate change and inform the public about its dangers.

Hayhoe works out of Texas Tech university in the United States on regional- and local-scale impacts of climate change. On 16 September the UN said it was giving her a 2019 Champion of the Earth award.
