Deal will allow Qatari researchers free open-access publishing in Elsevier journals
The publishing company Elsevier has signed its first read-and-publish deal with the Qatar National Library Consortium.
Approved on 6 May, the three-year agreement will give researchers at the Qatar National Library, Qatar Foundation and Qatar University access to 2,300 journals published on Elsevier’s ScienceDirect platform, and also covers publication fees for papers published in open-access journals. Under it, researchers at the institutions will also be able to use Elsevier’s abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.
