Global survey finds few funders collect information on how researchers consider gender in their work
Hardly any funders are proactively tracking data on how gender is considered in research, despite the need for such information to ensure a level playing field in science, according to the Global Research Council.
The GRC, made up of the heads of science funding agencies from around the world, surveyed its participant organisations and found that just 10 of 65 respondents had a policy or guideline in place on the gender dimension in research and also provided instructions on the issue to both applicants and reviewers.
