Potential of $100 million disease surveillance centre overshadowed by Chinese reluctance to share Covid data
The World Health Organization has established a nerve centre for collecting and analysing data on emerging disease threats in Berlin, with the aim of staying ahead of future health emergencies.
The WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence has received an initial investment of $100 million from Germany and will be led by the current director-general of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu.
