Trio share 2023 Nobel Prize for discovery and manufacture of ‘quantum dots’
Three US-based scientists have won the 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for creating particles so small that quantum physics causes them to change colour depending on their size.
Moungi Bawendi of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Louis Brus of Columbia University and Alexei Ekimov of Nanocrystals Technology were awarded the honour on 4 October for discovering and synthesising ‘quantum dots’.
