Clarivate replaces CEO with ex-boss of acquired company

Software and data company brings back former boss of ProQuest

The analytics company Clarivate*, which provides software and data services to academia, industry and government, has replaced its chief executive officer.

After holding the role for around two years, Jonathan Gear will depart the position on 9 August, the company announced today. He will be replaced by Matti Shem Tov, the former chief executive of ProQuest, a company providing services to the research sector that Clarivate acquired in 2021 for $5.3 billion.
