Government loan supports hi-tech flight simulators

Canada's government has provided a $250-million loan to aviation training company CAE Inc, to help it develop simulation technology for next-generation civilian and military aircraft flight simulators.

The loan, under the government’s Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative, will allow the company to update its simulation software, and develop new simulators for military training.

James Moore, industry minister, said: "This support will help CAE to reinforce its position as a global leader in its field. This project will allow the company to maintain and grow its presence in Canada while also benefiting CAE’s vast network of Canadian collaborators, including universities, research institutions and suppliers."
