The provincial government is increasing its investment in the Manitoba Technology Accelerator by $600,000 over two years, the province’s jobs and economy minister Kevin Chief has announced.
The not-for-profit accelerator helps technology start-ups by providing business mentoring, coaching, networking and investment via a convertible debt note, so that borrowers repay the investment after the company achieves financial success.
In the past year the programme supported nine companies specialising in medical devices, functional foods and nutraceuticals, and information and communications technologies.
