Saskatchewan has partnered with innovation training organisation Mitacs to support postdoctoral and graduate student internships with companies in the province.
The province is providing C$270,000 to support 36 internships through Mitacs’ Accelerate programme, and Mitacs will receive an additional C$810,000 from the federal government and industry partners.
“This funding will enable interns to develop their careers with Saskatchewan companies,” said the province’s advanced education minister Kevin Doherty. “This investment will also help to support the province’s growth plan through the development of highly-skilled talent and by increasing the competitiveness of Saskatchewan’s economy.”
