The University of Guelph has announced plans to close two of its agricultural campuses in Alfred and Kemptville, Ontario.
The two campuses will stop taking on new students this fall, the university announced on 12 March, and academic programmes will finish by the end of 2015. The university’s Ridgetown campus will remain open.
“We are operating in an era of scarce resources,” said president Alastair Summerlee. “We must make difficult decisions together with changes that minimise duplication and preserve programmes that are unique and central to our mission.”
