Indonesia plans WHO partner lab

Indonesia's health minister has said he wants certification from the World Health Organization for a laboratory focused on research into animal-borne infectious diseases such as avian influenza, reports the Xinhuanet news agency.

Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih said the laboratory would be operated by the National Institute of Health Research and Development. The facilities and equipment would need to be certified by the WHO before becoming an official partner centre.
