Siemens to build IT R&D centre and factory in Chengdu

German engineering firm Siemens is to establish a factory and R&D centre in Chengdu city in Sichuan province for the production and development of programmable logic controllers, digital computers used for the automation of electromechanical processes, reports China Daily.

It will be the company’s largest digital factory in China and its third in the world for its digital automation business, after plants established in Germany and the US.
