Snow Dragon heads for Antarctic

China’s Antarctic icebreaker research vessel, Xuelong (Snow Dragon), is due to set sail in November on a six-month expedition to the Antarctic, reports China Daily.

The vessel will leave the northern port of Tianjin on 3 November with a crew of 172. They will work on 31 scientific research assignments and take supplies to China’s two Antarctic stations.
