Papers move up the citation index

A tenth of science and technology papers included in Thompson Reuters’ Science Citation Index came from China in 2010, according to a report published on 2 December by the Institute of Scientific and Technological Information of China.

The Statistical Data of Chinese (Science and Technology) Papers 2011 shows that between 2001 and 2011, China produced 836,300 papers which were cited 5.19 million times. According to the report, papers produced in China were the seventh most cited in the world in 2011 compared to eighth in 2010.
