Plans for nuclear safety body unveiled

Japan is to create a new nuclear safety watchdog under the auspices of the Environment Ministry as part of an effort to improve safety standards following this year's post-tsunami nuclear crisis at Fukushima.

The agency will combine the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency with another government advisory body, Reuters Africa has reported.
