Requirements for foreign education providers to be eased

The Indian government is considering relaxing the requirements for overseas institutions that want to set up operations in the country.

The Foreign Education Providers bill states that all foreign institutions must have a minimum of RS500 million (US$11m) to invest before setting up a campus in India, a figure that the Ministry of Human Resource Development plans to revise downwards.
