New Delhi offers contribution to BRICS science fund

The Indian government has offered funding worth $2 million for a $10m science fund for the BRICS countries, it was announced on 15 September.

The funding would be matched by governments from the other BRICS countries to create the Science, Technology and Innovation fund for Brazil, India, China and South Africa (BRICS). The fund would focus on a variety of science areas including energy, water, health and natural disaster management.
