Innovation universities planned

Fourteen innovation universities will be set up during the 12th Five Year Plan, India’s Minister of State for Planning, Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Ashwani Kumar, announced on 10 April, the Indo-Asian News Service reported.

During a visit to the city of Chandigarh, the minister encouraged the Haryana state government to send a proposal for one such university, as it was already establishing an education hub at Kundli, 50 kilometres from New Delhi.
