Chemist tipped to lead India’s CSIR

Chemist Suresh Das has been recommended to India's Council of Scientific and Industrial Research as it looks to replace outgoing director-general Samir Brahmachari.

Das, who directs the council’s National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, was put forward by a selection committee, according to an article published on 1 January in The Hindu.

Brahmachari is retiring after six years in the role.
