Baidu to make self-driving cars open access

Chinese internet giant Baidu has decided to make its software platform for autonomous driving openly accessible.

Baidu, China’s largest search engine group, announced at the Shanghai Auto Show on 18 April that it would open up its autonomous driving technology to rivals.

Through the Apollo project,  Baidu aims to provide an open software platform for car companies to develop self-driving systems.
