Springer Nature retracts Chinese research papers

The publishing company Springer Nature has retracted 107 research papers published by Chinese authors over concerns about forged peer reviews.

The papers were published in the journal Tumor Biology between 2012 and 2016. They were retracted on 20 April on recommendation of Springer’s publication ethics committee, after an investigation revealed irregularities in the peer-review process.

“After a thorough investigation we have strong reason to believe that the peer-review process was compromised,” Springer said in its retraction notice.
