Earthquake science fund launched

The Chinese government will spend 1.5 billion yuan ($230 million) on seismic research over the next five years.

The fund, jointly managed by the China Earthquake Administration and the National Natural Science Foundation, will run between 2018 and 2022.

Representatives of the two agencies launched the fund at a ceremony in Beijing on 5 September, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.
