Middle East biodiversity centre begins research

The first Green Roofs Ecology Center in Israel has begun work on its first research project at the University of Haifa.

Leon Blaustein, director of the centre and head of the university’s Community Ecology Laboratory, said research will focus on the conservation of biodiversity within a developed environment.

The project is now aiming to expand through collaboration with government, non-governmental officials and also internationally, said Blaustein.
