Iran to launch nano drug ‘to break US monopoly’

Iran is to launch its first nanomedicine, an antibiotic called SinaDoxosome, in March 2012, the Iranian government announced on 11 October.

The government said the medicine would provide an alternative to a US product, Doxorubicin, which has been on the market for 13 years. The medicine is for use in cancer treatments.
