Vahid Chegini, managing director of the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography, has announced plans to establish Iran's first ocean liner research vessel, the Iranian Students News Agency reported.
“The objective is to carry out oceanography studies in physics, chemistry, geology, biology and ecology in Oman Sea and Indian Ocean and also use the vessel as a floating university for training marine students in different fields,” Chegini said on 13 September.
