BBSRC follow-on funding explained, Scottish sabbaticals, future leader makes quantum leap

The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council’s Follow-on Funding schemes open twice yearly to all grantees keen to get more value out of their research projects. Success rates are relatively healthy (around 22 per cent) and innovation novices are very welcome to apply. Adam Bowen, the council’s co-head for knowledge exchange and commercialisation, gives Ben Upton some tips for those who do. The next round of Follow-on Funding closes on 9 October.
