Ingrid Cnossen did not despair after two rejections from the Natural Environment Research Council’s Independent Research Fellowships scheme. She gathered more feedback, bolstered her experience and won with her third bid, she tells Pola Lem. The scheme, which offers five years of support for early-career environmental scientists, is open now with a deadline of 1 October.
