Why the KEF is nothing to be scared of, and GCRF bids large and small

Funding Insight returns from its Easter break to tackle the thorny issue of the Knowledge Exchange Framework. In our Know How article this week, Hamish McAlpine spells out why researchers’ fears that the KEF will add to their administrative burden are unfounded. Have you considered how you could make your research KEFable? No? Well that’s fine, says Hamish McAlpine, head of knowledge exchange data and evidence at Research England, because there is no need. The KEF “will not force you to do anything that an engaged, sensible, autonomous academic would not ordinarily do”. Also we should never use the word “KEFable” ever again, he urges.
