The ESRC’s Future of the UK and Scotland programme is funding a series of projects in the run-up to the Scottish independence referendum in 2014. The last of the advertised opportunities, involving up to five senior fellowships closes for applications on 1 May.
Charlie Jeffery, the programme’s research co-ordinator and a member of ESRC’s advisory group, explains that: “When part of a state decides to hold a referendum on whether to stay part of the state or create a new one, that’s a pretty significant social science question.”
