The Wellcome Trust has made a splash with its idea to plant a collective of scientists, artists and philosophers in its popular visitor venue, the Wellcome Collection. Funding Insight takes advice on what researchers must do to win a place in The Hub.
“This isn’t a research project per se,
” says Clare Matterson, director of medical humanities and engagement at Wellcome. “It might take some ideas from primary research but will be about exploring an idea in ways you haven’t done before.” The secret to a good application? “Be bold,” she says. The team will have £1 million to spend over two years to do something they’ve always dreamed of.
