The Medical Research Foundation plans to spend £5.5 million in 2015-16. Craig Nicholson found out how it can help mid-career researchers who might think they’re out of options.
The Medical Research Foundation expects to spend £5.5m on research in this financial year, almost double what it spent in its first year, 2010-11, after being set up as a registered charity of the Medical Research Council (MRC).
“We’re fortunate to have had two high-income years, which have allowed us to increase our commitment to research,” says Angela Hind, the foundation’s director.
