EMBO has been offering mobility grants to young researchers since the 1960s and has supported thousands of exchanges. Lindsay McKenzie spoke to programme manager Andrea Hutterer about how to get involved.
When did EMBO start offering mobility grants?
The European Molecular Biology Organization was founded in 1964, and has always had the aim of supporting researchers and promoting scientific exchange. We offer a number of fellowships which all entail international exchange. Our fellowships were the first of their kind in Europe; they were and remain a unique way to support the work of young scientists.
