My winning proposal: Hacking into a Royal Society fellowship

Cybersecurity expert Steven Murdoch has extended his five-year Royal Society University Research Fellowship for an extra three years. As the scheme reopens, he tells Lila Randall how he cut through the cyberjargon to win his award.

Royal Society University Research Fellowships are intended for early-career scientists with the potential to become leaders in their fields.

The scheme is open to researchers with between three and eight years’ postdoctoral experience, who do not hold a permanent position within a university. Applicants should be citizens of, or have a connection to, the European Economic Area or Switzerland and will be based in the UK for their fellowships.
