Opportunity profile: Newton Fund tackles Indian industrial pollution

The Newton-Bhabha UK-India Industrial Waste Challenge is backed by £8 million from UK funders. Winning bids must offer practical solutions for key industries, Janet Geddes, Newton Fund programme manager at Innovate UK, tells Lila Randall.

The Industrial Waste Challenge is funded by the British funders Innovate UK, the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council; India’s Department of Biotechnology will match the UK funding.

Up to £2 million per project is available for UK partners and Innovate UK says it expects to fund between four and six projects.
