The role of philanthropy in supporting research and innovation in Australia may be small but its impact is increasing.

The Myer Foundation’s Innovation Fellowship, which has just closed in its fourth (2017-18) round, has awarded nine one-year fellowships to a diverse group of innovators carrying out projects that range from a study to reduce Aboriginal imprisonment to the development of a mobile gaming app to help preserve biodiversity.
