Opportunity profile: What is wellbeing?

The AHRC and ESRC’s wellbeing hub is looking for a project to become its newest ‘spoke’ and work on how to measure wellbeing. The ESRC’s Wendy Matcham tells Ben Upton how to make the panel happy.

Wendy’s top tips

  • Your team will become a major component of the What Works Centre for Wellbeing, so make sure you know its existing work and connections very well.
  • Emphasise any experience working with non-academic partners and influencing policy.
  • A range of outputs would be welcome on bids.

The Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council expect to award just one grant in the Approaches to Understanding and Measuring Wellbeing call. The total grant is worth up to £550,000 with the research councils contributing up to 80 per cent of the full economic cost. The deadline for applications is 20 June.
